What is shredjet?

Shredjet is a service that provides High Priority streams of Solana shreds to validators and RPC nodes.

When integrated with your node, shredjet delivers shreds through a direct streaming mechanism that bypasses the standard Solana Turbine Tree propagation path. This direct delivery method reduces the latency of shred reception.

Benefits

The primary function of shredjet is to accelerate block propagation to your node. This improvement in propagation speed provides several operational advantages:

  • Validator reliability improvement through alternative block propagation paths
  • Reduced voting latency as block entries are received earlier
  • Lower probability of missed votes due to propagation delays / inconsistencies
  • Performance optimization for block production and processing
  • Latency reduction for WebSocket and yellowstone-gRPC services (if implemented)

Shredjet achieves these benefits by establishing a more direct path for shreds to reach your node infrastructure, eliminating intermediary hops in the propagation network.

Requirements

  • Docker
  • Approx. 5mb/sec of download bandwidth per node
